Busoga United FC were 2-1 winners over KCCA FC at the FUFA Technical Center, Njeru.
The game that kicked off at 5:22 p.m. one hour and 22 minutes late due to the afternoon downpour, was played for 80 minutes, with 40 minutes per half.
KCCA FC had the first moment of offensive promise rattle the frame of the goal when Ettiene Katenga dribbled past three men and teed up Usama, whose touch on the ball was a little too heavy thus the ball hitting the woodwork and was cleared away by the hosts.
Dominic Ayella then opened his KCCA FC senior tally with a beauty of a goal from outside the 18-yard box to give KCCA FC the advantage in the 25th minute.
Six minutes later, Busoga United levelled matters courtesy of Ronald Kasamba’s tap-in from close quarters.
One all the break.
After recess, Katenga once again dribbled past three men and laid a good ball in the box but Ayella was a second late and the ball rolled wide just 10 minutes after the restart.
Abdallah Mubiru rung some changes introducing Hassan Mubiru for Moses Waiswa in the 54th minute.
Ashraf Mugume picked up a lose ball in the midfield, took a touch and shot but his effort flew inches wide off the upright.
Abdallah then made a second change, introducing Gui Cungulo for Ashraf Mugume in the 68th minute.
Hassan Mubiru’s long range effort from down the right flank was saved by Busoga United’s goal keeper Michael Lutaaya in the 73rd minute.
Just when it seemed like both teams were going to settle for a point apiece, the hosts pounced with three minutes of normal time to play and doubled their lead through Emmanuel Ajo
2-1 the final score.
