Teenager Juma Ibrahm’s goal in the 16th minute is all KCCA FC needed to pick three points at home in the StarTimes Uganda Premier League.
Two teenagers Juma Ibrahim and Mwanje Elvis were handed first home starts while Dominic Ayella was handed his senior debut for KCCA FC.
In the 11th minute, Kasirye teed up Anaku who made a run and curled the ball onto the upright and out wide with the entire visitors’ backline beaten.
Rogers Mato was fouled on the edge of the box. Juma took the resultant freekick and Bright Stars’ Were saved.
In the 16th minute, Juma started a move, passed the ball to Mato who crossed in the box and the former’s diving header flew past Were to hand KCCA FC the lead.
Sadat Anaku could have doubled the score for KCCA FC but his stinging shot was parried wide by Were, Jurua shot from distance and the visitors’ goal keeper saved again in the 25th minute.
Two minutes later, Ayella came inches close to scoring on his debut when he headed wide from six yards out off a good cross from Mugume.
1-0 at the break.
After recess, Ayella leaped but his header was parried wide for a corner kick off Hassan Jurua’s cross in the 53rd minute.
Five minutes later, Peter Magambo cleaned up smartly to deny Bright Stars’ Ssenkatuka who had capitalized on John Revita’s error.
Morley Byekwaso rung the changes in the 69th minute, introducing Arafat Usama and Brian Majwega for youngsters Elvis Mwanje and Dominc Ayella.
With a quarter an hour to play, Juma teed up Anaku whose shot was deflected wide for a corner kick. Juma’s resultant kick fell to Majwega who was unmarked in the box but his effort flew wayward.
1-0 at fulltime.
KCCA FC back to winning ways at home.
The Kasasiro boys are second on the table and have 53 points from 27 games with 3 games to play.
