KCCA FC 2-1 Busoga United

Substitute Tshisungu Kankonde’s late fantastic strike handed KCCA FC three points at home and ensured KCCA FC stretched and maintained its position at the top of the StarTimes Uganda Premier League table.
The Congolese forward who was introduced in the 63rd minute scored his second goal in three games and his second in as many home games.
KCCA FC enjoyed most of the possession at the start of the game but failed to get the breakthrough in the first quarter of the hour.
It took until the 19th minute when Muhammad Shaban was fouled by Busoga’s goalkeeper Michael Lutaaya in the box.
Vice-captain Julius Poloto stepped up and sent the goalkeeper the wrong way to hand KCCA FC the lead in the 21st minute.
The visitors’ best chance of the game fell to Dickson Nuwamanya but his powerful shot was skied over the frame of the goal at the half-hour mark.
In the 34th minute, Laban Tibita restored parity for Busoga United.
One all at the break. After recess, Kagawa Muhammad Ssenoga, Ashraf Mugume, and Haruna Lukwago replaced Rogers Mato, Julius Poloto, and Emmanuel Wasswa.
In the 55th minute, Mugume was cautioned for a late challenge on Busoga’s Tibita.
Morley made more changes, introducing Tshisungu Kankonde and Charles Lwanga for Shaban Muhammad and Saidi Mayanja in the 63rd minute.
Kankonde’s first chance came six minutes after his introduction but his effort flew high over the crossbar.
Tshisungu Kankonde would then score arguably the goal of the season and the match-winner from over 30 yards out with vicious power straight into the net to send the KCCA FC faithful into a frenzy with 12 minutes to play.
KCCA FC won the game 2-1 and maintained the top position on the StarTimes Uganda Premier League.
KCCA FC visit Bright Stars FC in the final game of the first round on Tuesday 20th December in Kavumba.
