MATCH REPORT: KCCA, Brightstars share spoils – StartimesUPL


KCCA FC and Brightstars FC shared spoils in the Startimes Uganda Premier League game held at Startimes Stadium, Lugogo.

The result meant KCCA FC have not picked a win in the last four games in all competitions. Three draws and one loss in the last four games.

The result was the first stalemate for KCCA FC this term and meant the 13 times Champions now have seven points from four games.

The game was an end to end affair from the onset. Teenager and home debutant Joseph Kafumbe coming closest to scoring but his 30-yard strike was parried wide by the visitors’ custodian Edwin Kiwanuka.

Mike Mutebi made an early change in the opening stanza withdrawing Simon Serunkuma for Steven Sserwadda.

After recess, the visitors made a change introducing Augustine Kacancu for Henry Kiwanuka.

At the hour mark, the visitors drew first blood through Joseph Janjali but five minutes later teenager Steven Sserwadda drew matters level with a tap in from Kizza Mustafa’s free-kick.

Mike Mutyaba and Erisa Sekisambu were then introduced for Joseph Kafumbe and Keziron Kizito in a bid to get fresh legs to search for the winning goal.

One all is how it ended. Both team sharing spoils.

KCCA FC faces Bul FC next away in Jinja on Tuesday 8th October and then will face Onduparaka at home in Lugogo on Friday 11th October.
