KCCA FC were 2-1 winners against UPDF FC at the Bombo Military Barracks Grounds on match day 20 of the league.
An early first-half strike from Usama Arafat and a second-half finish from Sadat Anaku are all KCCA FC needed to secure the win on the road.
UPDF’s Samson Kigozi grabbed the consolation goal for the hosts with 10 minutes to the end of stoppage time, but the finish came a little too late to have his team grab something from the game.
Haruna Lukwago and Usama combined smartly in the sixth minute for the former to tee up the latter, whose strike flew past UPDF’s custodian Anyama and into the back of the net to grab his second game in as many league games.
UPDF’s captain Bernard Muwanga was cautioned for a foul on Anaku in the 12th minute.

Saidi Mayanja should have doubled KCCA’s lead when Mubezi teed him up beautifully, but the former blasted the ball over the woodwork with the goalmouth at his mercy at the half hour mark.
Four minutes later, Joel Sserunjogi was cautioned for a foul on UPDF’s Ronald Kayondo.
With four minutes to the end of the first half, Anaku received a caution from the referee for committing a foul on UPDF’s Dennis Ssekitoleko as he tried to win possession from him.
1-0 the score at the break.
After recess, Joel Sserunjogi received his marching orders when he committed a second bookable offense on UPDF’s Kayondo in the 48th minute.
KCCA FC’s gaffer, Abdallah Mubiru, rung some changes, introducing Derrick Nsibambi and Peter Magambo for Bright Anukani and Shafik Kwikiriza in the 52nd minute.
Five minutes later, Sharifu Ssengendo replaced Usama.

A sweeping move from Sharifu Ssengendo and Mayanja had the latter tee up Anaku, who finished beautifully to double KCCA’s lead.
KCCA’s skipper, Fillbert Obenchan, cleared the ball to deny UPDF’s Brian Kalumba, who had the goalkeeper to beat in the 73rd minute.
UPDF halved the deficit through KCCA’s former player Samson Kigozi, who struck the ball from the edge of the box past Mutwalibi Mugolofa.
Late changes had Yian Gatbel and Ashraf Mugume replace Sadat Anaku and Saidi Mayanja.
10-man KCCA FC holding on to win the game and register two wins on the bounce for the first time since October 2024.
KCCA FC are now 4th on the table with 31 points from 20 games.
KCCA FC switch focus to the Stanbic Uganda Cup where the record winners will host regional league side Rwenzori Lions FC on Tuesday 18th March 2025
