KCCA FC bowed out of the Stanbic Uganda Cup round of 32 that was played at MTN Omondi Stadium, Lugogo.
Bright Stars FC took an early lead courtesy of Marvin Youngman in the 10th minute.
KCCA FC searched for the leveler but the visitors had answers to most of the questions asked on a rainy evening.
Gift Ali won possession and surged forward, beat his marker and shot on goal, Were parried the ball into Usama’s path whose shot flew over the frame of the goal in the 30th minute.
Mugume won possession in the box and sent in a fierce shot that was blocked by Bright Stars’ Warren Buule in the 34th minute.
In the 38th minute, Majwega had the opportunity to level matters but his effort flew over the bar with the visitors’ backline beaten.
Four minutes to the end of the first half, skipper Benjamin Ochan kept out a teasing freekick from the visitors.
0-1 at halftime.
After recess, Poloto, Ssekisambu and Mato replaced Mugerwa, Kasirye and Usama.
In the 59th minute, Mato Rogers was cautioned together with Bright Stars’ Warren Buule for a foul and backchat to the referee respectively.
In the 61st minute, Bright Stars’ Yassin Mugume was cautioned for wasting time.
In the 65th minute, Obenchan headed wide from a good delivery by Gift Ali. Three minutes later, Were saved Poloto’s well timed header.
In the 70th minute mark, Jurua Hassan rattled the frame of the goal after he had nodded beautifully from a corner kick.
Brian Aheebwa replaced Gift Ali in 73rd minute.
