KCCA FC and BUL FC played out a goalless draw in a tightly contested game at MTN Omondi Stadium, Lugogo.
The match was the opener of the second round of the league for both sides..
KCCA FC was seeking revenge against BUL FC who won the first leg 1-0 in the opening game of the 2023–24 season held at the FUFA Technical Center in Njeru.
KCCA FC had the game’s first moment of offensive promise fall to talisman Shaban Muhammad but his header flew inches wide in the 13th minute.
In the 21st minute, Mugume teed up Loki, who controlled perfectly and shot on goal, but BUL’s custodian, Tom Ikara was equal to the task and made a save.
Ashraf Mugume was withdrawn, and Cungulo Gui took his place five minutes later.
In the 37th minute, debutant Joseph Ogwang and BUL’s assistant coach Simeon Masaba were cautioned for a foul and dissent, respectively.
Goalless at the break.
After recess, KCCA FC’s skipper, Filbert Obenchan was cautioned for dissent in the 53rd minute.
A minute later, Joao Gabriel replaced Loki Emmanuel.
In the 64th minute, BUL’s Tezikya Lawrence was cautioned for a foul on Katenga.
Gabriel’s introduction breathed more life into the game, and his constant forward runs almost gifted KCCA FC the lead.
In the 68th minute, Gabriel dribbled past BUL’s Otti and laid a beautiful pass in the box, but Katenga was a second late, and his connection went wide.
In the 80th minute, Peter Lwasa was handed his debut as he replaced Emmanuel Wasswa.
BUL’s custodian, Tom Ikara, would then get cautioned for delaying play in stoppage time.
Goalless after 90 minutes.
