MATCH REPORT | KCCA FC finish second in Uganda Premier League

KCCA FC finished the StarTimes Uganda Premier League in second place on 56 points having won 15 games, drawn 10, lost 4, scored 41 and conceded 21 goals with a goal difference of 20 goals.

The 13 times Champions, KCCA FC lost 1-0 to Wakiso Giants at home on the final day of the season.

KCCA FC made a number of changes, the notable one was goal keeper Ali Mwirusi starting a league game for the first time this term.

The shot stopper was called into action early in the game to deny Wakiso’s Bogere.

At the quarter hour mark, Jurua Hassan’s shot took a deflection and flew over the frame of the goal.

In the 21st minute, Usama teed up Ayella who controlled and shot straight into the goal keeper’s hands.

At the half hour mark, Anaku’s over head kick was cleared away by Wakiso’s Madoi.

With four minutes left in the first stanza, Mato was fouled at the edge of the 18 yards box. Ibrahim Juma’s free kick was headed wide by Anaku.

After recess, Wakiso broke the deadlock through Shariph Kimbowa’s goal in the 58th minute.

Morley rung changes introducing Ssekisambu and Aheebwa for Kasirye and Ayella in the 65th minute.

Two minutes after his introduction, Aheebwa almost levelled the tie but his effort rattled the woodwork.

Ashraf Mugume later replaced Usama Arafati in the last 12 minutes of the game.
