KCCA FC outclassed Kitara FC in a sellout match held at MTN Omondi Stadium, Lugogo.
KCCA FC puffed and huffed for the opening goal, but the visitors were equal to the task early on in the game.
In the 9th minute, Mubezi’s well-taken cross into the box was headed inches wide by Nsibambi.
It did not take KCCA FC that long to find the back of the net, and it was Saidi Mayanja’s excellent finish from a well-worked solo run by Shafik Kwikiriza that gave KCCA FC the lead in the 11th minute.
Kwikiriza consistently asked the visitors’ defense questions. The young player twice came close to scoring but was stopped by Kusiima’s blocks.
James Mubezi was the first to get into the referee’s book for the wrong reasons. The left-back was cautioned for a foul on Kitara’s Kabon Living in the 25th minute.
Kitara’s Ronald Otti was also cautioned for a foul play on Nsibambi in the 31st minute.
And just when it looked like the opening stanza was to end with KCCA having a slim advantage over visitors Kitara, Nsibambi had other plans.
The shirt number 9 tracked a back pass that was poorly cleared by Kusiima, won possession in the box, controlled, beat the goalkeeper, and slotted the ball home to stretch KCCA’s lead going into halftime.
2-0 at the break.

After recess, Anukani’s shot rattled the woodwork and was parried wide by Kusiima. The shirt number 14 player almost converted straight from a corner kick, but his effort was saved by the goalkeeper on the goal line in the 58th minute.
Kitara’s Denis Omedi was cautioned for foul play on Gavin Kizito in the 71st minute.
Abdallah Mubiru rung some changes, introducing Peter Magambo and Ashraf Mugume for Saidi Mayanja and Etienne Katenga in the 74th minute.
Sharifu Ssengendo would later replace Bright Anukani in the 82nd minute.
Two minutes later, Ashraf Mugume got booked for protesting the referee’s decision on the pitch, and substitute Ssengendo also got booked for fouling Kabon on the edge of the box in additional time.
