KCCA FC 3-1 Onduparaka FC

KCCA FC picked a routine home win against Onduparaka FC at the MTN Omondi Stadium, Lugogo.
A first half beautiful free kick from Herbert Achai and two second half goals from Usama Arafati and Jurua Hassan were all KCCA FC needed to pick three points at home against Onduparaka FC.
Usama Arafat had the game’s first moment of offensive promise but his effort inside the box deflected wide for corner kick in the 7th minute.
Mugume produced a snapshot from outside the 18 yards box. Onduparaka’s goal keeper fumbled and later saved his effort in the 14th minute.
Obenchan floated in air to nod from a well taken corner kick by Gift Ali. His effort flew inches off the upright.
Full back Jurua Hassan controlled a loose ball on the visitors’ box and sent in a fierce shot that whistled off the frame off the goal.
In the 35th minute, Ashraf Mugume was fouled on the edge of the 18 yards box. Herbert Achai stepped up to slot beautifully and hand KCCA FC the lead.
1-0 at halftime.
After the interval, Brian Majwega and Rogers Mato replaced Yassar Mugerwa and Ersa Ssekisambu respectively.
Brian Majwega was cautioned for foul play on Onduparaka’s John Rogers in the 57th minute.
Usama Arafati would then double KCCA FC’s lead in the 59th minute. The midfielder slotted home from close quarters past Michael Kagiri.
Jurua Hassan dribbled past a number of Onduparaka FC’s defenders before hitting his effort over the bar in the 69th minute.
Bukenya Joseph and Charles Lwanga would later replace Gift Ali and Davis Kasirye in 74th minute.
Charles Lwanga brought new energy to the game when he kept the visitors’ backline busy and on their toes with his endless runs.
In the 83rd minute, Baden Mujaidhin pulled one back for the visitors with a non stop strike from outside the box.
When it seemed like it was over, Jurua Hassan had other plans, the young defender surged forward with pace and power and riffled the ball in the top right corner to stretch KCCA FC’s lead in additional time.
3-1 the final score.
KCCA FC picking the 6th win in 6 home games against Onduparaka FC.
KCCA FC are now a point off the log leaders Vipers SC after 18 matches played this season.
Focus now switches to Uganda Cup where KCCA FC will be hosting Soltilo Bright Stars FC at MTN Omondi Stadium, Lugogo in the round of 32 on Friday 25th February 2022
