KCCA FC picked a crucial away win over Gaddafi FC in Jinja.
A second half strike by substitute Julius Poloto is all the thirteen times Uganda Premier League Champions needed to grab the three points.
KCCA’s first chance fell to Allan Okello whose curling effort was saved by Gaddafi’s Mutakubwa in the 10th minute.
Six minutes later, Shaban found the back of the net but had his goal cancelled by the linesman citing the forward was offside.
Moses Waiswa was cautioned for kicking away the ball in frustration after he was fouled and the referee waved for play to continue in the 21st minute.
Okello’s cross was almost turned in Gaddafi’s goal by defender Magumba but the ball whistled past the upright three minutes after the half hour mark.
Five minutes later, Gaddafi’s Madondo rattled the frame of the Benjamin Ochan’s goal with a bullet header and Saidi Mayanja cleared the ball away.

After recess, Kankonde and Poloto replaced Shaban and Majwega respectively in the 54th minute.
Haruna Lukwago was cautioned for fouling Gaddfi’s forward Asiki in the 64th minute.
When it seemed like both sides were going to share the points, substitute Julius Poloto popped up with a beauty of a strike to hand KCCA the lead. The forward controlled a good pass off the head of Saidi Mayanja and shot past goal keeper Mutakubwa in the 73rd minute.
Ashraf Mugume then replaced Saidi Mayanja in the 82nd minute.
With two minutes left on the clock, Poloto was fouled by Gaddafi’s Magumba when he was through on goal. Referee cautioned the latter and Kankonde’s resultant free kick flew over the cross bar.
1-0 at fulltime.
