KCCA FC picked three points in the first home game of the StarTimes Uganda Premier League 2021/22 season.

Two first half goals in as many games from Ashraf Mugume and Davis Kasirye is all KCCA FC needed to have an edge over visitors Gaddafi FC.

KCCA FC enjoyed most of the possession early in the game but were not clinical in the final third.

Herbert Achai’s run down the left flank at the quarter-hour mark was cleared off the goal line by Gadaffi’s Bakari Magumba.

On 19 minutes, Gift Ali set up Ashraf Mugume who finished beautifully with a trademark curler outside the 18 yard box to hand KCCA FC the lead.

Four minutes later, Iguma almost doubled KCCA FC’s lead but his header flew inches wide with the entire Gaddafi FC backline beaten.

At the half hour mark, Majwega dribbled past two markers and crossed in the box to an unmarked Julius Poloto whose effort was blocked and cleared away by Paul Musamali.

In the 37th minute, Innocent Wafula’s cross was perfectly met by Kasirye Davis who nodded home to extend KCCA’s lead and his second goal in as many games.

In the 42nd minute, Gift Ali’s snap shot from outside the box was parried wide by Gaddafi’s goal keeper Ronald Mutebi.

2-0 at halftime. KCCA FC with the advantage.

After recess, Gaddafi pulled one back courtesy of Brian Kalumba in the 53rd minute.

Mato Rogers replaced Poloto Julius at the hour mark.

Eight minutes later, Morley Byekwaso made further changes introducing Yassar Mugerwa, Brian Aheebwa, and Sam Ssenyonjo for Gift Ali, Davis Kasirye and Sadat Anaku respectively.

In the 71st minute Majwega Brian was booked for a foul on an opponent.

In the 81st minute, Denis Iguma had another chance to extend KCCA FC’s lead but his header rattled the cross bar and was cleared away by Gaddafi’s Paul Musamali.

Forward, Brian Aheebwa was then booked for a late challenge on Gaddafi’s Paul Musamali in the 83rd minute.

Uganda U17 National Team Captain and KCCA soccer academy graduate Juma Ibrahim was then handed his league debut in the 88th minute replacing Brian Majwega.
