KCCA FC picked three points against UPDF FC at Bombo Military Barracks Grounds.
The win put a halt to KCCA FC’s winless run. The Kasasiro Boys had last won against Onduparaka FC in the league on 19th February.
Sadat Anaku’s first half strike, an own goal by the hosts and Brian Aheebwa’s season opener is all KCCA FC needed to return to winning ways.
Early in the game, Mugume’s freekick was deflected by UPDF’s Kasozi, the shirt number 17 was in position to hit the rebound but his effort was parried wide for a corner kick, 7 minutes into the game.
Sadat Anaku then put KCCA FC in front with a beautiful header that flew past UPDF’s Wasswa, after he had been set up perfectly by Denis Iguma.
Achai’s cross in the box was headed by Lwanga who set up Anaku but his header was saved by UPDF’s Wasswa in the 29th minute..
Anaku should have stretched KCCA’s lead in the 34th and 37th minutes but his efforts were missed by inches with the hosts’ defense beaten.
The referee awarded a penalty for the hosts in additional time of the first half. Ivan Ahimbisibwe stepped up to take the penalty but Benjamin Ochan had other plans. The skipper parried the ball wide and out for a throw in.
0-1 at the break.
After recess, Davis Kasirye and Brian Aheebwa replaced Charles Lwanga and Yassar Mugerwa at the hour mark.
Four minutes later, the hosts put the ball in the back of their goal keeper’s net to double KCCA FC’s lead.
Anaku should have scored his second for the day and KCCA FC’s third after he run past two men, composed himself and shot on goal but Wasswa saved, with a quarter an hour to play.
In the 81st minute, Anaku’s effort was saved by Wasswa but Aheebwa was in position to tap home from the rebound and thus registering his first goal of the 2021/22 season.
Mato Rogers and Erisa Ssekisambu replaced Herbert Achai and Anaku.
Skipper Ochan was later cautioned by the referee.

KCCA FC returning to winning ways with a comfortable win against UPDF FC and climbing to second position on the log. The 13 times Champions have 45 points from 22 games and lie 7 points behind log leaders.
Up next for KCCA FC is a home game against Arua Hill on Monday 11th April at MTN Omondi Stadium, Lugogo.
