KCCA FC 5-0 Maroons FC
MTN Omondi Stadium, Lugogo
Saturday 26th October 2024
7:00 pm
KCCA FC put five past Maroons FC at the MTN Omondi Stadium, Lugogo.
A goal each from Ashraf Mugume, Abubaker Mayanja, Saidi Mayanja, Shafik Kwikiriza and Sadat Anaku is all KCCA FC needed to collect maximum points against the prisons’ side.
Mugume drew first blood for KCCA FC pouncing on Kwikiriza’s deflected shot and riffled the ball into the back of the net in the 3rd minute of the game.
KCCA FC should have doubled their lead nine minutes later, but Abubaker Mayanja’s first touch let him down when he failed to connect a well well-crossedcrossed ball down the left flank from Muhamud.
In the 24th minute, Saidi teed up Kwikiriza, who cut inside and shot on goal, but Maroons’ goalkeeper Tamale parried the ball wide.
Maroons’ best attempt to level the tie came in the 39th minute when Mujahid Ogama was through on goal, but Muhamud was in the right place at the right time to deny him.
Abubaker Mayanja doubled KCCA FC’s lead beautifully after a well-worked move from Saidi, Kwikiriza, and finally Anukani, who played the final pass to the poacher in the 43rd minute.
Saidi Mayanja further stretched KCCA FC’s lead, capitalizing on a loose ball from Maroons’ custodian Simon Tamale, and the little man struck the ball with his weaker foot from 60 yards out to score a goal of-the-season contender at the stroke of halftime.
After recess, Kwikiriza should have scored four minutes after the restart but his curling shot flew straight to goalkeeper Tamale after Anukani had teed him up.
At the hour mark, Sadat Anaku, Usama Arafat, and Fillbert Obenchan replaced Abubaker Mayanja, Saidi Mayanja, and Hassan Muhamud.
Six minutes later, Kwikiriza joined the party. The sleek player struck the ball past Maroons’ Denis Rukundo, who had earlier cleared the ball off the line to deny Anukani.
In the 71st minute, Juma Ibrahim and Etienne Katenga replaced James Mubezi and Shafik Kwikiriza.
With 10 minutes left to play, substitutes Usama Arafat and Sadat Anaku combined for the fifth goal. Usama the provider and Anaku the finisher. The number 15 registering his maiden goal in his first game since his return to KCCA FC..
5-0 the final score.
