KCCA FC and UPDF FC shared spoils at MTN Omondi Stadium, Lugogo.
This was the first time KCCA FC dropped points at home in the league this term.
KCCA FC was the better side for 90 minutes but came shy in front of goal on several moments.
A point takes the Cityzens to second position, just a point behind leaders NEC FC.
KCCA FC welcomed back skipper Julius Poloto who had been sidelined due to injury since the start of the league this season.
Sammy Ssebaduka had to take the captain’s place after he suffered a hamstring injury in the 19th minute.
KCCA FC’s best chance of the opening stanza came in the 23rd minute when Bright Anukani attempted a shot on goal after UPDF’s goalkeeper Anyama had moved off his line but he over hit his effort and the ball went begging.
In the 39th minute, Saidi Mayanja and Bright Anukani exchanged passes at the edge of the visitor’s box, but UPDF’s Aggrey Kiirya blocked the former’s effort in what was a frustrating half for KCCA FC.
Goalless at the break.
Ashraf Mugume replaced the substitute Sammy Ssebaduka before the start of the second half.
In the 70th minute, Abubaker Mayanja replaced fellow forward Derrick Nsibambi.
Bright Anukani got cautioned for a foul on UPDF’s Faridi as the visitor’s attempted a quick counter attack off a KCCA FC corner kick.
Goalless after 90 minutes.
