MTN-Omondi Stadium, Lugogo
KCCA FC picked a comfortable win against BUL FC at the MTN-Omondi Stadium, Lugogo and thus meant the Morley Byekwaso era commence on a positive note.
The Kasasiro Boyz started the game on the front foot and constantly asked questions but the visitors BUL FC kept composed and thwarted all efforts from the hosts away.
Morley Byekwaso named Denis Iguma in midfield alongside Mugume Ashraf, Bright Anukani and Steven Sserwadda.
In the 13th minute, Iguma had the game’s first moment of offensive promise but his effort flew up and above.
On 20th minute mark, Obenchan crossed beautifully in the box but Lwanga Charles failed to connect from close range.
Teenager Sserwadda could have found the back of the net in the 35th minute but his effort was saved by Bul’s Kimera after he had dribbled past three men.
Just when you thought the opening stanza was to end goalless, Anukani delivered a beautiful Free Kick in the box and Fillbert Obenchan got at the end of it to nod home his first goal this term and the first of the Morley Byekwaso era at the stroke of first half.
After the interval, hardly had we settled in our seats when Charles Lwanga doubled the lead from a clumsy mistake from the visitors’ goal keeper.
Assistant Captain Julius Poloto was introduced to replace teenager Steven Sserwadda in the 55th minute.
Hardly had Poloto been introduced when he rattled the woodwork with a smashing free kick. Lwanga headed wide from the rebound in the 61st minute.
In the 72 minute, Byekwaso made a double substitution introducing Kigozi Samson for Lwanga Charles and Keziron Kizito for Bright Anukani.
With a quarter an hour to play, Julius Poloto fired home the third goal from a Keziron Kizito assist.
Kizza Joseph Bukenya was then introduced for Sadat Anaku in the 85th minute.
3-0 the final score.
