KCCA FC picked up the third loss on the bounce in the Uganda Premier League in a tightly contested game against Bul FC in Jinja.
KCCA FC seemed the better side in the opening stages and could have gone ahead courtesy of well planed move by Herbert Achai but his well laid ball to league top scorer Aheebwa Brian was kicked up and above the cross bar in the 12th minute.
Skipper Charles Lukwago then saved a well struck ball by Bul’s Ibrahim Mugulusi to deny the hosts on 20 minutes.
In the 33rd minute, former KCCA FC player Musa Esenu nodded home the opener off a crisp move down the right flank to hand his side the advantage.
Two minutes later, debutant Moses Kalanzi was subbed off and Juma Balinya was introduced.
KCCA had the chance to go into the break level but Kigozi Samson nodded wide from a very beautiful Keziron Kizito cross just at the stroke of halftime.
After restart, Loro Mazengo and Filbert Obenchan replaced Kato Samuel and Keziron Kizito.
Hardly had the pair got introduced to the game when Bul doubled the lead through a well struck ball from Mukongotya.
Musana Hassan and Lwanga Charles were then introduced for Kigozi Samson and Anukani Bright on 66 minutes.
On 72 minutes, Lukwago limited more damage when he stopped Mugulusi’s effort in a superb one on one save.
Balinya and Mazengo exchanged beautifully but the former’s effort from the edge of the box went straight into the hands of the hosts’ custodian.
KCCA FC were awarded a penalty in the 81st minute when a Bul player handled the ball in the 18 yard box. Aheebwa stepped up to take the kick but his effort from 12 yards was saved.
Charles Lwanga found KCCA FC’s consolation in the 90th minute from Moses Aliro’s cross. The former making no mistake but nod home his first KCCA FC goal.
2-1 the final score. Bul FC winning against KCCA FC for the second time in a row in their backyard. KCCA FC visit Express FC next on Wednesday 17th February at Wankulukuku Stadium.
