KCCA FC lost the first leg of the first round of the FUFA Super 8 to Kitara FC.
Denis Omedi’s first half goal is all Kitara needed to win the game.
KCCA FC handed debuts to Isa Mubiru, Hassan Muhamud and Bright Anukani.
In the 22nd minute, Abubaker Mayanja had KCCA’s best chance of the game parried wide by Kitara’s custodian Kusiima.
Kitara’s David Ndihabwe and KCCA’s Musitafa Mujuzi were cautioned for fouls in the 17th and 29th minutes, respectively.
In the 33rd minute, Kitara’s Kusiima parried Captain Julius Poloto’s free kick over the bar.
1-0 at the break in favor of Kitara.
After recess, Emmanuel Anyama, Shafik Nana and Sharif Ssengendo were handed their debuts and replaced Abu Mayanja, Julius Poloto and Etienne Katenga at the hour mark.
Six minutes later, Kwikiriza Nana showed immediate impact when he beat his marker and curled in a spectacular strike that deflected off Hassan Muhamud and into the back of the net. The goal was ruled out for Hassan being offside when he took a touch on the ball.
In the 74th minute, Saidi Mayanja teed up Bright Anukani, whose effort flew over the bar.
Juma Ibrahim and Peter Magambo replaced Isa Mubiru and Joel Sserunjogi with 11 minutes left to play.
1-0 the final score.
