KCCA FC and Lugazi FC played out a one-all draw at the Lugazi FC stadium, Najjembe.
Sadat Anaku’s 48th-minute goal was canceled out by Derrick Mwanje’s finish 12 minutes to the end of normal time.
KCCA FC should have sealed off the game early but missed chances from Bright Anukani, Usama Arafat and Sadat Anaku came back to haunt the Citizens.
Usama’s shot stung the palms of Lugazi’s goalkeeper Emuran in the 14th minute.
Usama teed up Katenga but the latter’s shot was kept out by shot-stopper Emuran in the 21st minute..
A minute later, Juma Ibrahim produced a timely block to deny the hosts’ Nelson Mandela from finding the back of the net.
Usama’s chance off his weaker foot was then cleared off the goal line in the 36th minute.
Mugume was fouled at the edge of the box, and a freekick was awarded to KCCA FC. He stepped up to take the resultant kick but his effort rattled the woodwork.
Lugazi’s Rogers Adriko and KCCA’s Hassan Muhamud were then cautioned just minutes away from the end of the opening stanza.

After the interval, Anaku produced a moment of brilliance after he was teed up by Usama. The number 15 controlled the ball, beat two markers, and slotted home beautifully to hand KCCA the lead.
Steven Munguchi and Sharifu Ssengendo then replaced Ashraf Mugume and Etienne Katenga.
Sharifu Ssengendo was cautioned for a foul on Lugazi’s Nelson Mandela in the 63rd minute.
Bright Anukani replaced Saidi Mayanja in the 69th minute.
In the 71st minute, Anaku found the back of the net, but the linesman flag went up, and the goal was waved as offside.
Lugazi’s Derrick Mwanje leveled the tie in the 78th minute.
KCCA FC’s final change had Derrick Nsibambi replace Usama Arafat to try and search for a winning goal.
Lugazi’s Basham Mugwa was cautioned for a foul on Musitafa Mujuzi in the 88th minute.
