KCCA FC fell to URA FC in a lunch time tie in the StarTimes Uganda Premier League away in Lugazi.
Two second half goals from former KCCA FC player Eric Ssenjobe and substitute Alfred Leku is all the home side needed to sink the 13 times Uganda Premier League Champions.
KCCA FC players missed converting a number of chances in the first half.
The best of the chances falling to Shaban Muhammad and Allan Okello in the 13th and and 18th minutes respectively but both efforts flew inches off the upright.
Shaban was fouled by URA’s Eric Ssenjobe who was the last man but the referee William Oloya only cautioned the latter in the 28th minute.
Goalless at halftime.
After the break, Emmanuel Wasswa and Shaban were cautioned for fouls on URA’ s Kabonge and goal keeper Nafian Alionzi in the 49th and 54th minutes respectively.
In charge coach Kaddu Badru Mukasa then rung some changes and introduced Saidi Mayanja and Brian Aheebwa for Julius Poloto and Shaban.
Ssenjobe broke the deadlock and gave the home side the lead with a low power shot after KCCA FC had dropped possession in the midfield in the 71st minute.
Allan Okello and URA’s Saidi Kyeyune were cautioned for having an altercation in the 80th minute.
In the 82nd minute, Moses Waiswa and Kankonde Tshisungu replaced Geofrey Wasswa and Emmanuel Wasswa.
In the 4th minute of the added 5 after normal time, Alfred Leku doubled URA’s lead with a solo run and slotted past goal keeper Benjamin Ochan.
2-0 the final score.
KCCA FC losing the 4th game of the season but maintaining second position on 38 points from 20 games and are 5 points behind the table leaders but with the former having two games in hand.
KCCA FC host SC Villa next on Sunday 23rd April 2023, 4pm at the MTN Omondi Stadium, Lugogo.
