KCCA FC and BrightStars FC have agreed a deal for the transfer of goalkeeper Matovu Hassan to BrightStars FC.
Matovu, a KCCA Soccer academy graduate spent most of last season as an understudy to Club Captain Charles Lukwago.
He had previously been sent out on loan to Proline FC where he played for two years 2018-19 and 2019-20 seasons.
During his loan period at Proline FC he won the Uganda Cup and FUFA Big League Title in 2019 and also helped Proline gain promotion to the Uganda Premier League.
In 2019-20 season, the shot stopper played six preliminary games for Proline FC in the CAF Confederation Cup.
The custodian returned to KCCA FC for the 2020-21 season and featured in only one league game against Kitara FC, the last game before sports activities were suspended due to a second wave of COVID19 in Uganda. KCCA FC won the game 6-2.
Matovu also satrted between the posts in the opening game of the CECAFA Kagame Cup 2021 against Tanzania’s Azam FC. KCCA FC lost 2-0 to Azam.
The shot stopper is set to join BrightStars after both clubs agreed a deal for his transfer.
Incase of any future transfer of the player, KCCA FC holds the right of first refusal if any club want him locally.
