Mike Mutyaba is determined to contribute more to the KCCA FC cause after scoring two goals in the victory over Nyamityobora FC.
The forward, on the back of a positive pre-season, netted the first goal of his KCCA FC career in the 62nd minute, eleven minutes after coming off the bench to replace Kyambadde Allan. Later on in the 70th minute he again struck his second of the day from a Bukenya Lawrence assist before Nunda Jackson buried the game in the 89th minute to secure the Kasasiro boys another win in the StarTimes Uganda Premier League campaign with a 6-1 triumph at StarTimes Stadium-Lugogo on Sunday Evening.
Mutyaba couldn’t hide his emotions when speaking to KCCAFC’s Media Team and described the moment he celebrated in front of the KCCA FC fans as the best feeling he’s experienced so far in his career.
“For me, Sunday, for my career so far, was the best feeling I’ve felt,” the forward said. “I was quick to react from my touch, swung my foot at it and it connected right and went into the bottom corner. From there, I just went and celebrated.”

“Honestly, I can’t describe it, in front of the KCCA FC fans, it’s the best feeling I’ve had. I’m so proud and happy to be able to help the team. Hopefully I made my family proud too with my first goal (s) and hopefully I can push on forward and get many more and help the team out more.”
Mutyaba’s tidy finishes beyond Nyamityobora’s keeper Jomi Hillary in the 62nd and 70th minute settled a pulsating 2018/19 Uganda Premier League Match Day 8 in KCCA FC’s favor and was the forward’s first goals in his 3rd appearance for KCCA FC.
Mutyaba’s impressive outing against Nyamityobora came on the back of a positive pre-season, in which he featured in almost all of KCCA FC’s matches. Although he felt he could have done better during the warm-up games, Mike is desperate to keep showing he is worthy of a regular place in Mike Mutebi’s starting XI.
Mike Mutyaba scored a brace for KCCA FC against Nyamityobora FC in a space of eight minutes.
“For me, pre-season wise the minutes were the most important thing. I was kind of disappointed with my performances in pre-season – I don’t think I was what I can be and I still think I can be better than I was on Sunday.
“But of course, I’m very happy with how it started and now I’ll just push on from here and hopefully make many more memories like the ones on Sunday against Nyamityobora FC for me.”
We play Maroons Football Club away at Luzira Prison Grounds next on Saturday, 1 December 2018 and we wait to see if Mike Mutebi will name Mike Mutyba on his team news.
