Mutwalibi Mugolofa has received his maiden call-up to the Uganda Cranes, the senior men’s national team.
Mugolofa joined KCCA FC in January 2024 and signed a six-month contract until June 2024. The goalkeeper featured in four games for KCCA FC and kept two clean sheets in the 2023/24 season.
Fast forward to June 2024, and the goalkeeper penned a three-year contract with KCCA FC until the end of the 2026–27 season.
In the 2024/25 season, Mugolofa has started all of KCCA FC’s seven league games, keeping six clean sheets in seven games played. The only goal he has conceded this season came against BUL FC away at Lugazi Stadium.
Mutwalibi Mugolofa’s Numbers
Mugolofa kept two clean sheets from 4 league games played in the 2023/24 season.
He kept two clean sheets from two games played against NEC FC and Maroons FC in the FUFA Super 8 2024.
Mugolofa has kept 6 clean sheets from 7 league games played in the 2024/25 season
Since joining KCCA FC in January, Mugolofa has played 13 games and kept 10 clean sheets.
The shot-stopper has conceded three goals in 13 games played for KCCA FC.
Four Summoned to Uganda Cranes
Four KCCA FC players have been summoned to the Uganda Cranes ahead of AFCON 2025 qualifier games against South Africa and Congo.
The quartet comprises Mutwalibi Mugolofa, Shafik Kwikiriza, Gavin Mugweri Kizito, and Saidi Mayanja.
The trio of Mayanja, Kizito, and Kwikiriza were part of the 27-man Uganda Cranes squad that featured against South Sudan in October 2024.
Uganda will take on South Africa at home (Mandela National Stadium) on November 15, 2024, before visiting Congo four days later.
The two games present a chance for Uganda to seal qualification to AFCON 2025 with a point needed from the possible six.
Coach Put explained why he has summoned four goalkeepers this time, including Mutwalibi Mugolofa, who plies his trade at KCCA FC.
We are aware that CHAN is around the corner and we have games against Burundi next month. So I needed to have him (Mugolofa) around the setup and also get training seasions with the goalkeeping coach. He has been performing well in the league, and maybe next time we will summon another goalkeeper.
The Uganda Cranes will enter the residential camp on Sunday at Cranes Paradise, Kisasi with foreign-based players joining as and when they arrive in the country.
Uganda tops Group K on 10 points, two ahead of South Africa, while Congo and South Sudan have four and zero points, respectively.
