Ashraf ‘Fadiga’ Mugume recently signed for KCCA FC for Four years until July 2024.
The midfielder spoke to www.kccafc.co.ug and had this to say about his move to KCCA FC.
I am happy and feel overwhelmed to join KCCA FC. I have had a chance to train with the club since January 2020 and I immediately felt at home since the first day here.

I have a couple of players that are my friends here and also grew up with a number of them so the chemistry is good.

Mugume’s contract will run from 1st July 2020 till 1st July 2024. Mugume started his football career at Red Star FC now Sparta 09 while studying at Old Kampala Primary School from 2005 till 2011.
He later joined Football for Good while at Old Kampala Senior Secondary School in Senior one till Senior three (2012-2014)
He joined Vipers Junior Team while at St Mary’s SSS, Kitende in 2015 till 2017 where he won the FUFA Juniors League in 2015.
He was promoted to Vipers Senior team in 2016 and made his debut in 2017 against Mbarara City FC and also registered an assist in his maiden game in a 2-0 home win.
He won the Uganda Premier League with Vipers SC in 2018 and later crossed to Police FC on a season long loan in 2018/19 season where he played 28 league games and 2 Cup games, scoring 4 goals and recording 8 assists.
Mugume returned to Vipers SC in July 2019 till January 2020 and then both parties agree to part ways.
He was handed an opportunity to train with the KCCA FC senior team from January 2020 till late March 2020 when the Covid-19 pandemic happened.
Mugume brings vast creative options to the KCCA FC side since he can operate as an attacking midfielder and as a second striker. When www.kccafc.co.ug spoke to the player on his development, he said;
I feel this is the right environment for me to develop and grow into the right player I want to be. I have been involved in a number of practice games with the club and I felt the style of play was the right for me to blossom. They love to use the ball and I am comfortable in that kind of style.

The club has very good technically gifted players and competition here is real. Many players are on the National team and this speaks volumes for the kind of quality here.
I can’t wait to get started, repay the club for the faith they have had in me, fight for the badge and earn my spot on the first team.
I want to win trophies with the club, I want to make the fans happy and my family proud.
