Kampala Capital City Authority(KCCA) Football Club head coach Mike Mutebi is confident the team’s forwards have hit high gear at the opportune time.

KCCA FC defeated Lungujja Galaxy 6-0 on Wednesday ahead of their Total CAF Champions League Preliminary round return leg against CD Primeiro de Agosto on February 19th in Luanda.

Geoffrey Serunkumma was tightly marked throughout the game against Lungujja Galaxy in the 2017 FUFA Uganda Cup round of 32 on Wednesday, but he managed a brace

And Mutebi was satiated with the performance put up by club’s leading goalscorer Geoffrey Sserunkuma and youngster Derrick Nsibambi as KCCA FC convincingly outwitted Lungujja Galaxy in the Uganda cup on Wednesday.

Our leading two front men are scoring and that is quite important in terms of reliability for goals. Van Basten (Serunkuuma) is scoring and  Derrick Nsibambi is also scoring. This gives us confidence ahead of the return leg in the CAF champions league.

Asked whether he will chose to start with two strikers as KCCA FC take on Angola’s CD Primeiro de Agosto on Sunday, Mutebi indicated it will depend on the approach that technical team will chose to use.

Serunkuma’s starting place is guaranteed because he has been scoring but Nsibambi has also stated his case. Of course it will depend on the approach we will use, if we need two strikers, both Sserunkuma and Nsibambi will start, if we chose to use one, then Derrick will have to wait on bench

The duo scored five of the six goals as KCCA FC eased past Lungujja Galaxy 6-0 in the Uganda cup round of 32 game played at Phillip Omondi stadium on Wednesday. Derrick Nsibambi registered a hat trick while Sserunkuma scored a brace. The other goal was scored by Tom Masiko.
