Kampala Capital City Authority Football Club (KCCA FC) midfielder Muzamir Mutyaba was on Thursday morning announced as one of the nominees for the 2017 FUFA awards.
There is no doubt that the 2015/2016 league midfielder of the year had a great season as KCCA FC retained the league title.
Mutyaba’s performance also helped KCCA FC complete a historic domestic double in arguably KCCA FC’s best season ever.
Mutyaba who has been named in the FUFA Best XI since 2015, was also vital as KCCA FC competed in the 2017 CAF Champions League and later in the CAF Confederation Cup.
He shone in national colours as Uganda qualified for the African Championship of Nations (CHAN) finals for the fourth straight year.
His brace as Uganda defeated Rwanda 3-0 in the first leg of the final qualifying round is still fresh in the minds of many.
Mutyaba will vie for the top prize with former teammate Geoffrey Serunkuuma now playing at Buildcon in Zambia together with Vipers midfielder Tadeo Lwanga.
The function is slated for December 1st, 2017 at Commonwealth Resort Hotel in Munyonyo.
