Hassan Alidro Jurua has come out to say he is elated by the Senior National Team Call up.
The 21 year old was named in the 38 man squad that traveled to Uzbekistan for a four nation tournament that has Tajikistan, hosts Uzbekistan and Kyrgz Republic as a precursor of the the upcoming AFCON 2023 and CHAN 2023 qualifiers.
Jurua played in both build up games for the Uganda Cranes against Wakiso Giants (2-3) and Buganda region select at the Naama playground in Mityana (1-1).
I feel so good to be summoned by the National Team Coach. I feel so good to be part of the group because it is every player’s dream to represent his country. I felt so good to play two build up games for the National Team against Wakiso Giants and Buganda Select. I am looking forward to the tournament in Uzbekistan and I hope I can go out there and enjoy myself in the black, yellow, red shirt

Jurua Hassan’s story is a special one. Two years ago, he was fighting for his life in the Intensive Care Unit. He later recovered from illness and has been a main stay in Morley Byekwaso’s side for the 2021/22 season.
Jurua’s added advantage is that he can play as a right back, center back and defensive midfielder and he does this was too much ease.
His performance this season caught the eye of the National Team coach hence he being summoned to the Senior National Team and will take part in the Navruz Cup in Uzbekistan.
Uganda Cranes coach Milutin Sredojevic intends to use 13 players featuring for the different clubs in the StarTimes Uganda Premier League and 11 foreign based players for the upcoming four nation mini-tournament (Navruz Cup 2022) in Uzbekistan that will be held between 25th to 29th March.
The Uganda Cranes will play their first game against Tajikistan on 25th March 2022.
The third place play-off and final matches will then be held on 29th March 2022. All matches will be played at Markaziy stadium in Namangan.
