Nine KCCA FC Players Summoned for National Duty

Nine KCCA FC players have been summoned to Uganda Cranes side ahead of the back to back AFCON 2019 qualifier games between Uganda and Lesotho on 13th October, 2018 that will be played at Mandela National Stadium, Namboole.

Among these are U-20 National team players  Allan Okello, Julius Poloto and Mustafa Kizza.  Okello and Poloto are making the provisional squad for the first time, while Kizza is making the side for the second time, his first being on the penultimate side of CHAN 2018.

Speaking about their first senior National Team call ups, Poloto and Okello had this to say;

I am so delighted that i have been summoned to the National team and i am going to do all it takes to make the final cut. Poloto said

I am so happy i have made the senior National Team provisional squad. I can not wait to get started and i hope i can make the final team. Okello said 

Other summoned players of KCCA FC are Ibrahim Sadam Juma, Patrick Kaddu, Timothy Awany, Allan Kyambadde, Bernard Muwanga and goal keeper Charles Lukwago.

The Squad has 16 foreign based players and the rest are stars from the Uganda Premier League with some coming from the National U-20 team.

Local based players will start training on 5th October before the rest of the squad joins three days later for the residential camp ahead of the back to back ties against Lesotho to be played in a space of four days.

Custodian Charles Lukwago has steadily made the National Team a mainstay.

The final squad of 24 players for the residential camp will be named by the head coach on 7th October, 2018.
