
Kampala Capital City Authority Football club (KCCA FC) missed out on the opportunity to return to the summit of the Uganda Premier League following a draw against Soana on Tuesday at Kavumba.
League leading goalscorer Geoffrey Serunkuuma gave KCCA FC the lead after 33 minutes, but his strike was not enough as Soana rallied to earn a point with Farouk Osama Wejuli scoring the equalizer at the stroke of half time.
Coming to the game, the manager had made several changes with first choice goalkeeper Benjamin Ochan rested and replaced by Charles Lukwago.

Dennis Rukundo also got a starting slot this time around, Tom Masiko started in the holding midfield role with both Ivan Ntege and Isaac Kirabira waiting on bench.
KCCA FC had the chance to take the lead as early as the 27th minute through Derrick Nsibambi but his attempt inside the box was cleared by Soana’s Misi Katende who made a timely interception.
Serunkuuma put KCCA FC ahead three minutes later with a cool finish to take his tally this to 13 goals in the league.
The clinical forward controlled a headed pass from youngster Allan Okello before slotting the ball into the bottom left corner of the net.

The home side however, leveled matters inside the added minute of first half through an Osama Wejuli header.
Despite several attempts after recess, Soana remained resilient to deny KCCA FC a chance to regain the lead.
Derrick Nsibambi had a chance in the 55th minute but goalkeeper Franco Olinga stretched out to pull off a timely save.
Geoffrey Serunkuuma ,Muzamir Mutyaba and Vicent Kayizzi who replaced Allan Okello made several attacks but their efforts seemed futile.

The result means KCCA FC remain in second position on 42 points, two points behind SC Villa but with three games in hand.
KCCA FC’s next task will be an away encounter against Police FC on Friday at the Mandela National Stadium, Nambole.
