We have to show huge statement of intent in CAF – Timothy Awany

KCCA FC skipper Denis Okot (Behind) watches closes as Timothy Awany battles for possession with a Rivers United defender.

Center back Timothy Denis Awany thinks its time KCCA FC showed a statement of purpose on the continent. The gangly center back spoke to the KCCA FC media team about the opportunity to play on the continent and what it means for him as a player and team at large.

We have showed that playing on the continent is a habit and now we have to progress to greater heights. Playing on the continent alone is not enough but progressing to bigger stages is what will make us a force to reckon with on the continent, he said.

We the players know how huge the task at hand is and we are ready to show why we are Champions of Uganda. We have proved on the domestic level that we are a class above the rest and now its time for us to show this class on the continent. Last year we narrowly missed qualifying for the quarter finals of the CAF Confederations Cup but that’s all gone we can not change the future but we have a responsibility to do our best in the future, he added.
