League Champions KCCA will on Tuesday attempt to wrap up their Uganda Cup semifinal against Express when the two teams clash at Muteesa II Wankulukuku.
The city lads go into the game in high spirits having edged an action packed first leg 3-2 at the Phillip Omondi Stadium.
The manager who was flanked by attacker Paul Mucureezi gave his thoughts ahead of the game.
Manager’s Expectations
“The first 15 minutes they are at home they are going to attack. We must be orderly but that does not divorce us from the way we want to play. Go over there try to attack and try to get a good a result.”
Past results
“The mental block was thrust away and like I said we won the league by winning at Wankulukuku. That 1-0 win won us the league,”

“The previous season we won the league there with that draw. We had taken so long without picking any points there. So it has been progressive.
“And I believe it will give us confidence to go there and try to win and play our way however we are playing a very organized side with good players,” the manager Mike Mutebi said in his pre-match notes.
Basing on the opponents first leg performance, the manager is also anticipating another pulsating game
Manager heaps praise on rivals
“ I think defensively amongst all the clubs we have in the country they are the most organized.
But I don’t know whether they are going to thrive on that organization that they have or will be very careful because they usually sacrifice offense for defense and keeping in shape.

Then we have a responsibility to try to disorganize that organization. And they have good players when they are going forward.
It’s going to be a very good match but I believe we have in our Armour to pick a good result that furthers us in the competition.
What winning would mean;
The manager also gave his view on what it would mean to defeat the crosstown rivals.
“If I win it will be a good feeling. I have played for this club, supported and sacrificed a lot beyond being a manager now or a coach before.
“I don’t want to rate myself, I’ll only say thank God and it is an achievement and thank god and it will be a good feeling.
It is going to be a reflection of how we are going to play against Rivers United. You’ll find that most of the players who will play against Rivers will feature in tomorrow’s match with the exception of a few who will not be available
Shooting two birds with one stone;
We want to approach that game in the same way we are supposed to approach the game against Rivers.

If Express gives us a good challenge like they did in the past match it will be very good for us because Rivers are going to play exactly like that something that Express did in the last 25 minutes. I’m not disrespecting Express but we are using the game as a precursor, Mutebi stated.
The occasion is also not lost on midfielder Paul Mucureezi, scorer of the lone goal that clinched the 1-0 league victory at Wankulukuku last month
“We know we have to get a win at Wankulukuku. This is our time this is our season we have to have a double which we have to fight for tomorrow so it is good motivation.
“It is a medal I haven’t gotten locally. This is the opportunity we have and we have to fight for it so I am looking forward to the game,” the forward stated.
The winner of the tie will play West Nile Big League side Paidha Black Angels in the final set for June 10 in Arua.
