Teenager John Paul Dembe has been promoted from the KCCA FC reserve side to the senior team and has signed a five years contract until 2028.
In order to further his development, the forward has been sent out on a six months loan to the Swedish professional side Bollklubben Häcken, more commonly known as BK Häcken.
BK Hacken currently plays in Allsvenskan, the top tier of Swedish football. They are the current Champions of the Swedish league and are taking part in the UEFA Champions League first-round qualifiers.
Dembe, 18, has previously featured for the KCCA FC U20 side that won the Cambiasso U20 International Tournament in Daresalam, Tanzania in July 2022. He went on to score the lone goal in the semi-final against France’s Montpellier U20 which ensured KCCA FC U20 side made the finals. KCCA FC later won the final game of the tournament 1-0 against Azam FC U20 in a tightly contested game at Chamazi Stadium, Daresalam.
Fast forward, to February 2023, Dembe made the final Uganda Hippos U20 side that played in the AFCON U20 tournament in Egypt. The forward scored in the opening game for Uganda U20 against Central African Republic in the first game of Group B at the Suez Canal Stadium. Egypt. Uganda won the game 2-1.
