KCCA FC’s midfielder Gift Ali Abubakar has come out to speak about the club’s title defense ambitions and about the possibility of winning the Uganda Cup.
The player number 7 spoke with confidence and belief after KCCA FC knocked out Doves FC in Masindi to qualify for the quarter-finals of the Uganda Cup and said that the side can still attain glory this term.
On KCCA FC retaining the league this term
To be honest, we have a chance. We know we still have a chance. We have 5 games to play just like the log leaders and we just have to keep winning games and see what happens at the end.
We have the belief that we can still be Champions and we shall fight for the title till the very end. Gift said.
On the club’s chances to win the Uganda Cup this term
We are taking it a game at a time. The way cup competitions are played is a little different from how you encounter the league. All that matters is the team progressing to the next round.
We are into the quarter-finals and we shall wait to see who our opponent will be. We have cup success among our objectives this season so we are not taking anything for granted.
In the absence of Lukwago Charles, Poloto Julius and Kizza Mustafa who are the club captains in that order, Gif Ali stood in and led the team to victory over Doves FC in Masindi to qualify for the quarter-finals of the 46th edition of the Stanbic Uganda Cup.
